Grammar Focus : Gerunds and Infinitives

When making a career choice, one of the most important things to consider is knowing what our preferences are. Do we like what we are doing? Or do we hate it? Some people don’t want to to have a job that they don’t like. On Bangka Learning Center, we learned that people tend to choose careers that they like, or at least try to find one that they like. When we are stating preferences or dislikes, we can use verbs like love, adore, like, dislike, hate, loathe, abhor. Some of the verbs are commonly followed by gerunds, some by a to-infinitive, and some by either gerunds or infinitives. Read the rest of this entry »
